This is my little self-improvement experiment. Here I discuss mental health, weight loss, debt elimination, parenthood, pop culture and generally whatever gets me thinking. Be forewarned, we go for brutal honesty here; however, I do play well with others and so should you.
Since my party on the 25th, I’ve been feeling under the weather. Tired and flu-like, to be honest. My days have consisted of naps, moving from couch to love seat to computer chair to floor, generally feeling quite icky and a touch of self-pity.
Just wanted to let you all know thanks for the birthday wishes and yes, I’m still alive - though writhing on the couch and grumbling.
You know, it doesn’t seem odd to be 25 until I start relating it to other things… like my brother turning 18 on Friday (wtf?), my husband and I being married for three years, realizing I’m only 3 years away from my 10 year high school reunion.
At least I’m ahead of the game and already have completed my identity crisis!
So if you’re out and about on this fine summer day, have a small treat and think of me. Really want to brighten my day? Leave a comment telling me a funny birthday story.
Like when I was four, my stepmom was so sweet and bought me a Cookie Monster shaped cake for my birthday. However, when she went to cut it after I blew out the candles, I let out a scream a banshee would envy. “Don’t kill Cookie Monster!” After what I am told was a half hour meltdown I finally let her feed me some cake despite the crocodile tears. Now it’s your turn!
Excuse my absence, but I won’t be active online until Tuesday the 21st due to the happy celebrating of my birthday weekend!
In the meanwhile, prepare for the virtual party on the 20th by 1) remembering a funny birthday story to tell me and 2) thinking of something nice to say about me (a stretch, I know, but it’s my birthday!!! :-P).

Before I started to seriously consider writing for a living, I researched the meaning of several words used frequently in the writing word to educate myself in what they really meant.
