I’m 25 Today!!!
You know, it doesn’t seem odd to be 25 until I start relating it to other things… like my brother turning 18 on Friday (wtf?), my husband and I being married for three years, realizing I’m only 3 years away from my 10 year high school reunion.
At least I’m ahead of the game and already have completed my identity crisis!
So if you’re out and about on this fine summer day, have a small treat and think of me. Really want to brighten my day? Leave a comment telling me a funny birthday story.
Like when I was four, my stepmom was so sweet and bought me a Cookie Monster shaped cake for my birthday. However, when she went to cut it after I blew out the candles, I let out a scream a banshee would envy. “Don’t kill Cookie Monster!” After what I am told was a half hour meltdown I finally let her feed me some cake despite the crocodile tears. Now it’s your turn!

Happy Birthday! And congratulations for making it to this momentous event.
I don’t know if I have any funny birthday stories. There was the year my friend Jenny got me a singing bass and I laughed so hard I dropped it and almost broke it.
There was another year when my then boyfriend bought me mixing bowls and a blender and I threw them out on the driveway. The smashing sound was ever so gratifying. I told him, “I’m not your mother, never buy me things like that again.” Although now, I could really use those things.

Happy Birthday!
Hope you’re having a great time!
Not that funny of a story, but one year a friend of mine gave me this big ceramic elephant. I had no idea that it is really good luck, it just seemed very random and not that pretty. So, I just stared down at this thing and had nothing to say, so my friends had to step in for me and say how wonderful it was and what good luck it would bring me.
Your story did remind me of the time when I was three or so and I dressed up as a clown for this skit at my preschool, but when I looked at myself in the mirror I didn’t recognize myself, got scared, and started crying.
Hope you get better gifts and don’t get scared at looking at yourself in the mirror!
