Welcome to Mentally Interesting...

This is my little self-improvement experiment. Here I discuss mental health, weight loss, debt elimination, parenthood, pop culture and generally whatever gets me thinking. Be forewarned, we go for brutal honesty here; however, I do play well with others and so should you.

Emulating the Tortoise

“Slow but steady, steady but slow, that’s the way we always go…”

Since my last post on Wednesday, I have indeed done better. Each day came with a drudgery and slipped away with a little more peace in my heart. Thordora, you’ll be happy to know that while I didn’t indulge in some sappy movies, I did cry and get my emotions out through a book I’m finding very cathartic. I got some sleep, took some time to hide in bed and cuddle with Zoë and read. I even went out Saturday with my good friend LJ and the Husband to the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Modern Art) to see the Dalí exhibit there. Between the art and the jabbering at lunch we had afterward, I felt spent but much better than the week had permitted.

The evening surprisingly turned into a mini-party as a majority of our closest friends came over for ice cream, Taboo and a game of Lord of the Rings Monopoly with showings of Transformers and Disney’s animated Robin Hood in the background. (Oh yes, we are that dorky.) Fun was had by all and though I was exhausted by all the activity which even gave me a tension headache, my mood has risen back to normal.

*big* *happy* *sigh*

A long warm shower seems in order before we head out to a dinner of savory crêpes at a lovely sidewalk café. Not to mention the bargain hunting afterwards!

It takes very little to make me really happy. :-)

Thanks for your thoughts while my brain run rampant.

Good! Get it out! Don’t be like me, reading about the holocaust to get the crud out. A simple weepy story should do it well. :)
