The Half-Way Mark

Last Thursday, I entered into my 20th week of pregnancy (for those of you who don’t know, human gestation is 40 weeks long). I was seriously surprised by how quickly it came. And ever since my nausea died in week 14, I’ve been feeling pretty good. A few mood swings and some fatigue, but I’ll take those over nausea any day! But forgive me if this post is a little dry… I spent the full day querying and I’m a bit out of it now.

As for our baby girl, she seems to be doing just fine. I can feel her move most of the day now - especially an hour or so after I eat - and her little kicks are getting stronger. Some of them actually hurt a little! As I stated in last week’s update, the high risk OB was very satisfied with her development and sent me back to Dr. S, who was MUCH nicer yesterday than two weeks ago. Both doctors agreed that they want an echo-cardiogram done on Squishy’s heart after 24 weeks (so after Christmas and New Year’s is my guess) as a precaution to check her development. However, Dr. A was satisfied with leaving me on my current medications and only precautionary concern to continue observance of her heart and brain development.

In other baby news, we have indeed chosen a name for our little one *drum roll please* (more…)

Money Mondays - The Importance of Proper Documentation

My printer took a dive over the weekend.

First, when I printed our Christmas party invitations early last week, it smeared the ink as it printed. This irritated me greatly because 1) I spent over $150 on this Epson all-in-one and 2) I’m a bit of a perfectionist and can’t stand the idea of sending out less-than-perfect-looking invitations. But alas, I had to.

Then today as I went to print an important financial document that needs to be faxed back right away, the printer stopped taking in any paper. No matter how full I made sure the tray was, it just stopped accepting paper and then valiantly scrolled alternately “Paper Out” or “Paper Jam - remove jammed paper” across its matrix screen.

What does this have to do with debt or money management, you ask?

I had purchased a warranty! (more…)
