“Back in the saddle again…”

That’s right, folks. I’m back writing about the horrors of debt and how to get out from under that monster with a deeply personal saga. (I’m all about sagas lately!)

Let’s take a look at our progress over the past 5 months…

First we didn’t have a dime saved at the beginning of this year. When something came up, we were just screwed. Today, we boast a nice $1,000 emergency fund to cushion us from those unseen blows.

Now that we’re on to baby step #2, let’s take a look at our debt snowball:

In other words, our debt is $4,000 lighter!

In other areas, I’ve been exploring the Pear Budget, now out of beta and a full-fledged online service! It’s only $3/month and I loved the free Excel version they used to offer, so I’m trying the free trial to see how I like it and will let you know how it works out.

Yes my welcome-back post is a bit light, but I promise some more interesting items to come. Yea for Money Mondays!
