First, let’s spread some LinkyLove with the blog carnivals I participated in this week: Fitness Buff’s Total Mind and Body Fitness Carnival as well as The Tenth Edition of the Carnival of Improving Life. God bless those Canadians!
So, go view the excellent material in those carnivals while you await the first Dear Miri letter postpartum scheduled for the 25th!
By the way, how to you like the new layout? Spiffy, eh?
Today marks the 7th week of Miri’s life and my full return to my pre-pregnancy weight of *gulp* 215 lbs. I fit in my old clothes with exception to my pants - I needed to go up a size to *additional gulp* 18 thanks to the postpartum belly. But at least I get active again. Considering I was injured most of last year and then pregnant, my return to activity must be steady and slow to say the least. (more…)
Obviously, some things have changed since I first made my declaration back in February of this year.
First, an injury to my left leg in April (torn plantaris tendon, torn calf muscle and sprained hamstring) that took me both out of work and off my feet which is STILL healing. From the lack of mobility and the good food my Mom cooks, I gained another 15 lbs to put me at a whooping 220 lbs which is a lot for my medium 5′7″ frame.

I am currently 215 lbs (up 10 lbs from the “pre-pregnancy” weight of 205 after the “morning” sickness took its toll), which is on the low end of what I should gain by this time in the pregnancy.
While dieting is OBVIOUSLY not a good idea while pregnant (more…)
In my desperation to lose nearly 70 lbs off my 5′7″ frame - I’ve gained 10 lbs just from living with my mother and all her good cooking! - I actually turned to a source I never thought I would turn to…
… the United States government.
Yes, my internet friends, you read that correctly. Let me explain why I turned to Them, of all sources… (more…)
Today I am topping out at my heaviest ever. Like, heavier than my previous “heaviest ever”.
215.2 lbs. 42.6% body fat (that’s nearly 92 lbs of JUST FAT). 40DD-46″-46″.
I keep making excuses. My meds (they suck), the worker’s comp induced depression, the stress of moving. When is enough simply enough? (more…)
